Velvet Noir Hot Chocolate

Decadent Red Wine Hot Chocolate 🍷🍫

Prep Time: 15-20 minutes  | Servings: 10 (8oz each)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • 2 cups dry red wine (Merlot, Shiraz, or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 3 cups half & half (or whole milk)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate, stirring constantly.
  2. Slowly whisk in the red wine and half & half, ensuring a smooth blend.
  3. Add sugar, salt, and vanilla, stirring until fully incorporated.
  4. Heat the mixture until it reaches at least 140°F (warm but not boiling).
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, if desired.

Pro Tip: This drink can be chilled and reheated once for later enjoyment!
